PAGE ALL switch
- For all zones simultaneous broadcasting, MUSIC is muted by 30 dB and MIC
mixing is enabled
PAGE ZONE switch
- For specific zone announcements, MUSIC is muted by 30 dB and MIC mixing
is enabled
Zone Equalization
- Each zone is equipped with a set of tone controls, to tailor the sound according
to each zones acoustical requirements and speakers installed
PAGE ZONE function
- When activated, the chosen MUSIC SOURCE channel is temporarily attenuated
(by 30 dB) and the MIC signal is mixed over the music for the zone selected by the
MIC selector. This function works with MIC1 and MIC2 simultaneously.
PAGE ALL function
- When activated, all four MUSIC SOURCE channels are temporarily attenuated
(by 30 dB) and the MIC signal is mixed over the music regardless of the zone
selected by the MIC selector. This function works with MIC1 and MIC2
simultaneously.
LINE 1 Priority select switch
- Allows you to specify LINE1 as the priority input, switching the music source to
LINE1 when a music signal is detected at the input. Features adjustable sensitivity
(Low/High/Off)
MIC 1 Priority select switch
- Allows you to specify MIC1 as the priority input. When activated, a signal
detected at the MIC1 input is handled the same way as if the PAGE ZONE function
was chosen. Features adjustable sensitivity (Low/High/Off)

Each input source is provided with an independent input level control for MIC and
MUSIC

Other Functions
FUNCTION MUTING
Two conditions will cause a full mute to be applied to all zones:
MUSIC SOURCE switching (Full mute for one-half second)
Power ON (10 seconds while the amplifier section stabilizes)
PREOUT function
Allows you to connect external power amplifier(s), while retaining the ability to use
the DN-A850s internal power amplifiers. Each zone features a monophonic pre-out
jack (RCA jack)
MASTER VOLUME remote function
Selecting the LOCAL/REMOTE select switch on the rear panel permits external
remote operation. Connect an external volume control to the REMOTE terminal.
Switching between LOCAL and REMOTE is performed for each zone independently.
PAGE ZONE remote function
Connect an external ON/OFF switch to the PAGE ZONE REMOTE terminal on the
rear panel to activate the PAGE ZONE function from a remote location.
PAGE ALL remote function
Connect an external ON/OFF switch to the PAGE ALL REMOTE terminal on the
rear panel to activate the PAGE ALL function from a remote location.
Security covers
To prevent miss-adjustment during daily operation, critical controls are segregated,
and protected behind two tamper-proof covers.
Power amplifier protective functions
Overload protect circuit (over current detection and protection), featuring a
microprocessor-based internal protection circuit
DC detection and protection circuit, with automatic reset
Thermal detection and protection circuit, with automatic reset
Basic Connection Example
Expansion Example Using Preout Terminals
Connect additional amplifiers to the PREOUT terminals when you want to feed
music to five or more zones (up to eight zones).
When feeding music to eight zones, sound from four different sources are fed to
two zones per source.
If desired, an active (powered) subwoofer can be connected to the Preout terminal.
