No need to buy any more batteries or cassettes when using the Olympus DS-4000, as its included rechargeble batteries and charger keep the power conservative recorder running for over 20 hours between charges.

Using the latest in reduced power consuming microchips, you will get improved battery life over all cassette recorders and all digital recorders we know of. Its sturdy metal housing protects the recorders from the occasional bump, while the slide control offers a more natural motion of control while dictating.

The recordings are stored on an upgradable 32MB xD card, and can replaced with up to 512MB cards! After dictating with the DS-4000, its just a matter of sitting it into its docking cradle (included), and the Olympus DSS Player Pro Dictation software will automatically detect and download the file without touching a key. The software can also be configured to automatically send the file via a shared directory, email (optional encryption function included) or FTP.

The software can even be configured to automatically create a backup of the file, clear the recorder, set the time & date of the recorder and integrate with voice recognition software.

When the files arrive in the DSS Player Pro Transcription software, its just a matter of double-clicking the the new file, and pressing the Play button on the included foot control. Headsets are also included, and the sound is reproduced in chrystal clear digital reproduction. With digital recordings, sound quality is not lost when copied or transmitted, so you will save hours over time by having clearer and easier to manage voice recordings (ever loose or have a tape snap on you?!).

Once typed, the recording is moved out of the untyped area, and into the Finished folder, where it remains until you delete it (which is optional with the amount of space in todays computers).
